Ryan Mitchell was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born to parents Dean and Dana on April 3rd, 1986.
At the age of 6 years old, Ryan began his love for aviation, washing airplanes for rides at the local Rostraver Airport in Belle Vernon, PA.
By the age of 11, Ryan had over four thousand flight hours flying with friends, and then joined the Civil Air Patrol, the auxiliary of the United States Air Force. Ryan spent 6 and a half years flying for them, logging over eight thousand total hours and flying 23 different types of aircraft, from T-34B Mentors to the T-37 Talon training jet.
It was during this time that Ryan learned Bodybuilding and became a personal trainer.
After departing the USAF Auxiliary Ryan joined the United States Navy where he spent 3 years flying the S-3B Viking Anti-Submarine Jet, the P-3 Orion Reconnaissance Aircraft, and the F-5 Tiger II Aggressor Fighter Jet.
In those three years, Ryan was stationed in or had port visits to: Yokosuka, Japan (while living in Zushi City); Shimoda, Japan; Busan, South Korea; Singapore; Thailand (Phuket and Sattahip); Hong Kong; Key West, Florida; Jacksonville, FL; San Diego, California; and Oceana, Virginia.
Once departing the US Navy, Ryan was able to go after his true passion of becoming a professional wrestler.
Ryan began training as a professional wrestler in Jacksonville, Florida in December of 2006. After 3 months of training, Ryan began to attend the Funking Conservatory in Ocala, Florida in February of 2007.
Ryan was trained by the legendary Dory Funk, Jr, and finally making his debut in his first match on !BANG! TV. Since then, Ryan has held 4 titles (3 singles and one tag team) and has recently signed with All Japan Pro Wrestling to participate in their February Excite Series.
Amateur Wrestling
Ryan wrestled as an amateur wrestler for 2 years during Middle School, and 1 year in High School for the Yough Cougars. Ryan won in 2 tournaments during Middle School, and 1 during High School. Ryan continued his amateur wrestling training under Dory Funk, Jr. once he arrived at the Funking Conservatory.
Why Professional Wrestling?
Even though Ryan took a side track for almost 10 years in military service, his true passion was always professional wrestling. There was not a time that Ryan can remember not watching professional wrestling. It has mesmerized him since he was a child, and his real dream was always to become a professional wrestler and entertain fans around the world. Once going to train with Dory Funk, Jr, Ryan realized that his dream didn’t have to be just a dream, and that, with the help of the Funking Conservatory, it could become a reality. Since going to Ocala, Ryan has done nothing but train and strive to make it in the business that he loves, and be able to call himself the one thing he always wanted to….a professional wrestler.
